b'06Dolwyddelan CastleCreative Commons, Jeff BuckDolwyddelanA circular walk along a hidden valley abovea pretty village on the main road between Betws-y-Coed and Bleanau Ffestiniog, pastan ancient Welsh castle.From the car park by the railway station turn left over the railway and right immediately after the bridge following a road which rises steeply into the hidden valley of the river Lledr. Continue past the Gwyndy` farmhouse and turn right immediately before a cottage on the left. After a steep climb the track emerges onto open hillside with fine views across the mountains. Descend along a track to stone houses beyond a small stream. After a gate a path on the left goes through a small field and crosses an old stone footbridge eventually meeting the main A470.Cross the main road past the Roman Bridge railway station and follow signed footpaths which lead to a farm then right on a signed footpath across gates and stiles towards Dolwyddelan castle.
