About Us
In 1966 Joe Brown opened the Llanberis shop with his wife Val. The Capel Curig shop opened a couple of years later and over the years the shops have earned the reputation of being among the best specialist climbing equipment and outdoor gear shops in the UK. For almost 50 years, our ethos has remained very much the same, and that is to help you enjoy your time outdoors, whatever your pastime, have fun and be safe!
Joe Brown Shops are all based in the heart of Snowdonia, within spitting distance of many of Joe’s iconic climbs. We have shops in Llanberis and Capel Curig which cater for the mountaineer, climber and walker. We are an Aladdin's cave of technical gear, equipment, boots, fell running, travel equipment & clothing from all the best specialist outdoor brands.
